How to use Ronseal Garden Paint

Preparation

Lets start with wood, if you're going to paint your garden furniture make sure you give it a quick sand before you start and wipe it down with wipe spirit.

If you're painting your shed or fence just use a stiff brush to get rid of any dirt.

On metal make sure you wipe it down with white spirit and use a suitable metal primer - this'll make sure you get the best finish and your paint will last longer.

For brick, terracotta or stone remove any dust or loose material with a stiff brush and give it a good wipe.

Then you're good to go!

Application

Make sure you give it a good stir before you start. Try the colour out first on a hidden area to make sure you are happy with it.

If you're painting onto wood you'll need to brush in the direction of the wood grain. 3 coats will give you the best colour and protection and make sure you sand down between the second and third coat if you're painting a smooth surface.

Leave 4 hours between each coat.

Use deep, rich colours and some classic style: Bramble on stone, Beetroot on wood, or Midnight Blue on brick.

Colour splash     

Add a bit of fun with a splash of colour, this a great way to use left-over paint. Why not try Purple Berry on terracotta, Pink Jasmine, Summer Sky, and Lime Zest on wood, or Slate on wood.
