How to prep your interior wood
Project overview
We know preparing wood is boring and takes a lot of time and effort. But it'll be worth it when you get the perfect finish. We'll show you how to get it done before you protect it.
Step one
First, put down a dust sheet, then open a window.
Step two
Fill any holes or cracks with our wood filler. Give your wood a good sand with 120 grit sandpaper, so it's smooth. And if it's old, sand off any existing coating. Then wipe down with white spirit, not water or the grain will rise. Then leave it to dry.
Step three
Prep done, you're ready to protect.
We recommend...
High Performance Wood Filler
A high performance wood filler that lasts for years even when exposed to harsh weather conditions. It can fill to any depth and dries in just 30 minutes. Its tough formula means it won’t shrink or crack.
